What it is
Pirogass is a plant that converts biomass into syngas, for the production of electricity.

What it does
Through a process of pyro-gasification, biomass from trees and crops is converted into syngas, which in turn is converted into electricity and thermal energy.

How it does it
Pirogass is a highly innovative gasifier, with fixed bed: downdraft type plant is based on the use of multi-biomass, with an open chamber and proprietary reduction system that can produce tar-free syngas at source.

SITE Spa
For years it has promoted and developed systems for the production of energy from renewable sources and for energy saving. It is the manufacturer and owner of the patented solution Pirogass.
Dimensions
The biomass plant comprises the following components:

The pyro-gasification process takes place in an open chamber, with a slight vacuum inside the catalytic reactor.
Syngas production is not affected by interruptions due to biomass loading.
The innovative cracking and cooling process developed by SITE means that tar-free syngas can be produced at source.
The percentage of carbon residue and ash (char) contained in Pirogass syngas is below 1%.
The filtering system is less complex, less affected by tar, and longer-lasting than classic bag filters. It guarantees motor continuity, which is fundamental for obtaining an ROI on the plant.
Increased energy efficiency of the biomass (with the same kwh, fewer kg/h of biomass are necessary).
Biomasses with a moisture content of up to 25% can be used.
The plant is based on the use of multi-biomass.
Fewer costs for obtaining, treating and drying the biomass.
This means it is easier to obtain the biomass.

DIMENSIONS OF THE LOADED PRODUCT
The optimal grain size of the chips may vary, but should be between 1 and 6 cm long.
CHARACTERISTICS
The lower heat value of the incoming biomass cannot be less than 1900 Kcal/kg, considering a biomass with a high moisture content.
MULTI-BIOMASS
Pirogass is a multi-biomass system, as it can process different types of biomass of vegetable origin with a high lignin content.
